Ran Ber, 49, is the Director General of the Ministry of Science and Technology. He holds a BA in Management and Economics and an MA in Public Policy from the Hebrew University. In the last decade he served as the joint Deputy Director General of the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Culture and Sport. With his long-term vision for planning and emphasis on lasting co-operations he has been described as a groundbreaking leader and received many awards.
Ran has served in a variety of capacities and in his role as Deputy Director General he managed the Government Fund for the Commemoration of Ilan and Assaf Ramon and was a member of several public committees.
Over the years he has been a leading partner in the formulation of the reform in the civil service, a partner in the formulation of the vision and strategy of the ministries, led complex processes in the ministries including assessment and evaluation strategies as well as many reforms in human resources and employee motivation.
